We buy it
Every product we review is bought with our own money. The gear budget is about $500 a month. We do not accept free clubs, balls, or accessories in exchange for coverage.

The Honest Caddie is Jason's site. Independent golf equipment reviews. Real money spent. Real names used. No paid placements.

Real names
The person who wrote the review puts their real name on it. We do not use pen names, staff aliases, or made-up golfers.

No paid placements
A brand cannot buy a ranking, a verdict, or a spot on a page. If we have not bought it and used it, it does not get a review.

Affiliate links
We may add an affiliate link on a review. When we do, the page says so in plain language. The link never changes the verdict, the pros, or the cons. If we would not tell a friend to buy it, we do not link it. A commission, when one is paid, does not add to your price.
What a review includes
- The product
- The price we paid
- Where we bought it
- A receipt photo, when we have one
- The reviewer's real name
- A verdict
- Pros and cons
- Who it is for
- An affiliate link only when it is disclosed, and only if it does not change the verdict
What we will not publish
Invented scores, borrowed quotes, sample posts, or a review count we did not earn. If a section of the site is empty, it stays empty until there is something real to put there. Travel notes wait until we have paid to play the trip. Studio listings wait for the business's own public details, or a visit we paid for.
Corrections
